Immigration With Clarity and Care

The U.S. immigration system is notoriously complex — even a single missed deadline or improperly completed form can derail an application that took months or years to prepare. At Vindex Privatus, we bring meticulous attention to detail and clear communication to every immigration matter we handle.

Our immigration practice serves the diverse communities of Coral Gables and greater Miami-Dade County. We handle family-based petitions, adjustment of status applications, naturalization, DACA renewals, employment authorization documents, and asylum cases. We work with clients at every stage — from initial consultation through interview preparation and beyond.

Attorney David Cruz is trilingual in English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese, allowing us to serve clients directly in their preferred language. This eliminates the confusion and miscommunication that can occur when navigating immigration matters through interpreters or language barriers.

Immigration FAQ

Processing times vary significantly depending on the relationship category and the beneficiary's country of birth. Immediate relatives (spouses, parents, and unmarried children under 21 of U.S. citizens) have no visa number backlog and typically take 12 to 24 months from filing to green card. Other family preference categories can take several years to over a decade due to per-country visa backlogs. During your consultation, we review the current Visa Bulletin to give you a realistic timeline for your specific case.
Yes. When you file an adjustment of status (I-485), you can simultaneously file for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) using Form I-765. This allows you to work legally in the United States while your green card application is pending. We include the I-765 work permit application as part of our adjustment of status package so there is no gap in your work authorization.
The general requirements for naturalization under INA § 316 include: (1) age 18 or older; (2) lawful permanent resident for at least 5 years (3 years if married to a U.S. citizen); (3) continuous residence in the United States; (4) physical presence of at least 30 months in the past 5 years; (5) good moral character; (6) ability to read, write, and speak basic English; and (7) knowledge of U.S. civics (history and government). Some exceptions apply for applicants over 50 or 55 with long-term residence. We evaluate every factor during your consultation.
An RFE is not a denial — it is a request for additional information or documentation. USCIS typically gives you 87 days to respond. It is critical to respond thoroughly and on time, as failure to respond results in denial. When we prepare your application, we aim to submit a complete package that minimizes the likelihood of an RFE. If one is issued, we analyze the request carefully, gather the additional evidence, and prepare a comprehensive response.
